The menu is a delightful exploration of culinary craftsmanship. Start your meal with standout appetizers like the smoky, velvety Baba Ganoush or the crispy, tender Calamari. Seafood lovers will relish the Scallop and Shrimp Cargot, while those who enjoy robust flavors will find the Beef Carpaccio a gratifying choice. For lighter starters, the Caesar Salad offers a crisp, refreshing crunch balanced with rich dressing, and hummus paired with warm pita provides a creamy, earthy beginning to any meal.
Among the mains, the Pappardelle Bolognese and Penne Carbonara bring authentic Italian comfort to the table, with silky pasta enveloped in luscious sauces — the Carbonara famously served with a raw egg yolk to mix in for a creamy, freshly cooked finish. The Campo Lindo Chicken, prepared with local freerange chicken and complemented by crispy potatoes, roasted garlic, olives, chilies, and caper berries, evokes the rustic elegance of Mediterranean cuisine. Seafood enthusiasts can choose from options like Trout Almondine or Shrimp a La Plancha, each dish showcasing fresh, vibrant flavors with skillful execution.
For those craving heartier fare, the Lamb and Frites and the classic Steak and Potatoes bring satisfying depth and richness to the table, balanced beautifully by house-made accompaniments. Vegetarians will appreciate the creative Cauliflower Steak, served with basil pesto and a medley of seasonal vegetables, proving YaYas’ dedication to diverse palates.
No meal here is complete without sampling a dessert, and YaYas truly shines in this category. The Crème Brûlée is an exquisite finish: a delicate, caramelized crust that gives way to a luxuriously smooth, vanilla-infused custard. The Tiramisu and Chocolate Cake also promise decadence with every bite, providing a sweet farewell that lingers long after your last forkful.
Customer reviews consistently highlight YaYas’ excellent service and inviting atmosphere. For instance, Pat Kalowski treasures it as their “go-to” spot for birthdays, appreciating the personalized attention and flavorful dishes. Keely Gilbert recalls an anniversary dinner enhanced by the charming outdoor seating and soothing fountain sounds, all wrapped up with a server whose thoughtful recommendations made the experience shine even brighter. While not every dish resonates equally for all patrons—as some have noted the occasional overcooked pasta or room needing a refresh—the attentiveness of staff and quality of key menu items continually stand out, making it a dependable choice in the Overland Park dining scene.

My go-to place for birthday lunch or dinner: sign up, it’s free! ;) I usually get their grilled salmon salad, but decided to try something new: Penne Carbonara! I’m glad my server told me beforehand that it comes with a raw egg yolk for the customer to stir in. I was unsure about this, but supposedly the food is hot enough to cook it in the bowl. Seems like it’s fine since I’m not sick the next day. My server was excellent. The baba ganoush with crusty warm bread was yummy! My Carbonara was tasty, but I really should have stuck with the salad. Overall, a nice dining experience. You know I’ll go again. :)
We came to YaYa’s for our anniversary dinner but made no reservations so we were open to waiting or sitting wherever. They were busy but got us right in at a table outside and it was a beautiful atmosphere! The fountain nearby gave the perfect backdrop noise. Our waitress was sweet and had great recommendations. We didn’t mention it was our anniversary until after our meal while ordering our second drink and then they went above and beyond to treat us and celebrate us (including a hand written card with the wait staff’s signatures.) Not only were all the staff wonderful, the food was delicious! The fresh baked warm bread melted in our mouth. We had the shrimp linguine which was very good. And to end our night we had the buttercake—— definitely a must have! This was my first time at this location and I was very pleased from start to finish! Will definitely be back! Thanks YaYa’s for a wonderful night!
The pork chop is Amazing. I didn’t like the runny mashed potatoes. The bread with dinner was good. Salmon had a fresh taste . I Didnt like that the reserved room had too many servers going in and out that had nothing to do either our party. The room did seem a bit outdated.
We want to give all the stars to our server Reiley, our Appetizer Calamari was great, our main course was not so much but our server was such a wonderful person we didnt want to complain. She was very informative, friendly and attentive, I would hire her and pay her double for what she does there. For the food maybe it just not to our liking or an off day in the kitchen, my wife trout dish was tasteless she had to add salt in which is really rare for her, good thing that my sea scallops cooked to perfection and tasted good but the rest on my plate were not so much. So my $40 scallops was not worth it and my wife dish just bland.
Made a reservation for 6PM, and it took maybe 5-7 minutes for us to be seated. It wasn’t bad at all as it was super busy. We were here to celebrate a birthday. We ordered the shrimp linguine, carbonara, and their dinner special. We also ordered their calamari appetizer which was delicious. Their carbonara was rather… plain. The noodles were a bit overcooked so it was mushy. The portion size was really small for $18. Flavor wise, it was nothing special! It tasted like carbonara! There were scarce pieces of chicken. Presentation was lackluster. I’m not sure if it was worth $18 but you pay for the atmosphere and service! I’m not sure I’d get this dish again! It wasn’t anything special in my opinion to order again, but it was still good to eat! I finished my plate! The shrimp linguine was tasty! It was bursting with flavor and they did not skimp out on their shrimp at all! Again, portion size was rather small but that can’t be helped. Everything came out hot. The shrimp linguine is a must try! I liked how sweet and tangy and flavorful it was! Their dinner special for 02/08/2025 wasn’t special. The birthday girl had ordered it and the Brussels sprouts came out very black. Not sure if that’s how they were intending it to be but it can easily be peeled so you just eat the middle. The risotto was a bit bland but it was not bad. Their shortrib was very tender and juicy and seasoned well. It was very good! Service was good. Water was filled to the brim a lot which was nice. For the price, I’d hope to see more noodles in the plates but has a higher end dining facility, that’s usually the norm I guess. Parking was PACKED if you go during the weekend evening time, expect to not find parking and to have to park a bit far! Would I come back? Yes, yes I would! But only to celebrate things! I’m not sure I’d come back just for casual dining. But I would come back for sure! Our waiter was very kind and sociable and helped our table a lot. He was very kind-hearted! As for the birthday, maybe it was too much to expect a little dessert as a congrats! ᵕ̈ haha that’s on us though and won’t be docked for the restaurant.
First time at Yaya’s and definitely not last. Husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and looked online for restaurants and this was a highly suggested place and I can understand why now. The food and drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was great and service was phenomenal. We drove an hour away to come eat here and all my expectations were met. Look forward to returning!
Everything was just great! We got to the full hall, we had a reservation and our cozy table was waiting for us! Despite the large number of orders, we received fast service and enough attention! The waitress was charming. The food was beyond praise!!! Babaganash - tender and flavorful! The fish is wonderful and with it delicious cauliflower puree. Chicken and potatoes were also very good. The portions are quite large, exactly as we would like! Unfortunately, there was no room left for dessert, we will come back for it!))) We are very pleased with the visit, we will definitely come back again and strongly recommend this restaurant to all lovers of delicious food!!!
